What browser do I need to make purchases from this site?
To make a purchase online from this site, you must have an SSL-enabled browser such as Netscape Navigator (version 4.0 or higher) or Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 4.0 or higher).

 
What products are available online?
Currently, only items that are listed on our customers' registries are available for purchase.  If an item has been discontinued or cannot be fulfilled from our fulfilling locations, it may not be purchased online. If the "quanitity wanted" on the registry has been fulfilled, the item may not be purchased.

A selection of gifts from our retail stores is also available for purchase online.

 
Can I order items to be sent as gifts?
Any item you select can be shipped to another recipient as a gift. We'll wrap each gift separately for a nominal fee and print your personal message on a gift card. Gift Registry purchases are gift wrapped free of charge in our exclusive custom wrap.

 
Can I purchase or redeem Gift Cards online?
Gift Cards are available in the following denominations: $10.00, $20.00, $25.00, $50.00, $75.00, and $100.00. The gift card will be sent by first-class mail. We regret that Gift Cards cannot be redeemed online at this time.

What forms of payment are accepted for online purchases?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and of course, your Bergner's, Boston Store, Carson Pirie Scott, Herberger's, or Younkers credit card.

 
How is sales tax calculated?
The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc operates stores throughout the U.S under several nameplates. Those include: Bon-Ton, Elder-Beerman, Carson Pirie Scott, Bergner's, Herberger's, Younker's and The Boston Store. Current law requires us to collect all taxes that are applicable, based on the order's "ship to" zip code.

Be advised that some states require a tax on the delivery and/or gift wrap charges, as well. For on-line orders, all applicable taxes will be clearly displayed on your order at order completion time.

NOTE: Tax rates are subject to change at any time.


 
Will Boston Store confirm my order by return email?
If you provide your email address when placing your order, we'll send you a confirmation message within 24 hours.

 
How can I check the status of an order online?
You can check the status online any time after the order was placed. You'll need to provide your order number. If you have an account with bostonstore.com, you can look up your order after logging in - you need not know your order number.

What is the Boston Store return policy?
If you wish to exchange or return your purchase, we will gladly do so at full purchase price upon presentation of your original receipt. Returns without a receipt will be credited at today’s selling price. Items marked with a “G” require the Gift Receipt as the valid receipt for an exchange or return. Returns without a receipt will be credited at today’s selling price.

Returns with a Gift Receipt or returns without a receipt will either be credited to your store charge account or refunded with an Electronic Merchandise Credit. A Driver’s License or state-issued photo-ID must be presented before a Merchandise Credit will be issued. Purchases made completely or partially with a Merchandise Credit cannot be issued a Gift Receipt. Store Credits cannot be used to purchase Electronic Gift Cards.

Price adjustments will be given within seven days of the date of purchase and upon presentation of your original receipt. Yellow Dot, clearance, and specified purchases or promotions are not eligible for price adjustments.

 
Shipping Information

What shipping options are available?
Standard Shipping
Our shipping carrier will deliver your package within five to seven business days from receipt of your order. Gift Card purchases will be sent via United States Postal Service.

Rush Delivery
If shipping option "2-Day Air" is selected, the order will be delivered in 2 business days. This service is available for on-line merchandise purchases for an additional $20 per address.   Fragrances and cosmetics cannot be shipped via Next Day Air due to government regulations.   If shipping option "3-Day Air" is selected, the order will be delivered in 3 business days. This service is available for on-line merchandise purchases for an additional $10 per address.   Fragrances and cosmetics cannot be shipped via 2nd. Day Air due to government regulations.  

 
Will all of my packages be shipped by the same delivery service?
We strive to send all packages using the same shipping carrier. However, some packages may be delivered by an alternative carrier.  For more information, please  contact the Gift Registry Shopping Service at 1-866-379-7771  (Monday through Saturday, 9:45am to 6:00pm CST; Sunday, 11:00am to 6:00pm CST) .

 
Can orders be shipped to foreign countries?
At this time, orders can be shipped inside the United States, its possessions and/or territories, and Canada. If enhanced international shipping is desired, please  contact the Gift Registry Shopping Service at 1-866-379-7771 .

Security Information

Is the credit card information I submit secure?
Absolutely. Every step of the bostonstore.com online ordering process that requests credit card information employs Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. SSL renders information unreadable should anyone attempt to intercept it.

 
Will Boston Store distribute my email address to other companies?
Boston Store is committed to protecting our customers' reasonable expectations about privacy. To best serve you, Boston Store may share your email address with other members of The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. family of companies and with outside companies that we ask to perform services for us, such as maintaining a database of customer information or preparing and distributing email messages to our customers.
